Join us for Lunch with the BTP Bunch—a community-building event for current and past BTP students, faculty, and affiliates.

We’re excited to host Lunch with the BTP Bunch, a redesigned event created in response to student feedback and tailored to meet the evolving needs of our BTP community. This year, we’re focusing on professional development, scientific skills and communication, and career advancement, all while providing a supportive space for students, alumni, and faculty to connect and grow.

Why is this event different?

In November, BTP kicked off their Lunch with the BTP Bunch series with an inspiring event! BTP Program Manager Bailee Underwood led a gratitude wall exercise, where students filled the walls with heartfelt notes of appreciation. A beautiful reminder of the power of gratitude!

This year, students have taken the lead in shaping this series of events to focus on key areas of growth: refining scientific presentation skills, receiving feedback on their work, and learning professional skills that are essential for success in the biotech field. Whether you’re a BTP student looking to improve your scientific and professional skills, a BTP alum seeking new ways to stay involved, or a faculty member wanting to stay connected with the next generation of biotech professionals, this event series is for you.

At Lunch with the BTP Bunch, you’ll have the opportunity to:

Enhance your scientific presentation skills: Present your research in front of a supportive audience and receive constructive feedback to improve your science and communication.
Build professional and technical skills: Participate in hands-on workshops and expert-led sessions focused on career growth, job search strategies, and making the most of internships and other professional opportunities.
Network and connect: Engage with a diverse group of current students, alumni, and faculty in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

Lunch with the BTP Bunch is part of our commitment to continually adapt and improve based on student input. We plan to gather feedback annually to ensure that this community event remains relevant and beneficial, addressing the evolving needs of our BTP students.

Biotech tAles Ran From 2015-2024

Biotech tAles took place from 2015-2024 and has transitioned to a new series called “Lunch with the BTP Bunch,” offering workshops and training opportunities for current and former BTP students and affiliates. We value student feedback and are committed to personalizing the BTP experience. In response, we’re focusing on professional development, including internship strategies, interview prep, and guidance on resumes and cover letters. We’re also offering sessions on biotech-specific training and other valuable student resources.

BTP conducted Biotech tAles from 2015 – 2024 which was a series of presentations by the BTP students on biotech topics. The BTP training faculty coached teams of students for the debates. These monthly sessions served as a standing community-building activity to promote regular interactions among BTP faculty and students around the research relevant to biotechnology. All BTP members or perspective members were encouraged to attend!
