The UMass BTP values and emphasizes interactions of its members with industrial partners. The BTP facilitates industrial interactions through a number of programs. Our industrial interactions broaden post-graduation opportunities for our trainees; provide industrial partners early access to future employees and UMass facilities, including IALS $95M of instrumentation and core facilities; increase our students’ understanding of the biotech culture and marketplace; forge industrial partnerships and collaboration; and, widen the mentoring network for students, faculty and industrial partners.
Although none of our current trainees have yet graduated, BTP faculty have placed a number of people in biotechnology positions in a variety of sectors.
