Fundamentals of Biostatistics and Statistical Computing

Annually BTP offers a course entitled “Fundamentals of Biostatistics and Statistical Computing,” which is a requirement for all of our BTP Trainees. This course was designed to give students the basic computational and statistical skills to organize and summarize data. The course will cover general statistical concepts, including interpretation of numeric data summaries and basic analysis methods (e.g., R), using a variety of examples and exercises from biomedical studies. Because Calculus I is the only pre-requisite, this is the ideal course to educate all of our BTP Trainees, regardless of discipline. We are excited about this approach for imparting consistent mathematical fluency amongst our BTP Trainees.
